Memorial Day 21012

We had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend with family.  Katie and Matt flew down from Maryland to come see the new baby.  I hope Katie got enough cuddle time with the kiddos to hold her over until their next visit.  On Sunday we had a house full over for a cook out.  We enjoyed good company, good food, cornhole, an on the fly slip n' slide and Troy entertainment.

I think he loves her

He loves to give her big open mouth kisses right on top of her head:)

Life These Days

Between MANY diaper changes, MANY kisses (especially from Troy to Gen), MANY feedings (good heavens, I feel like a milkmaid), and some crying here and there (it can't be avoided)...we are surviving around here.  I have been reminded what it feels like being sleep deprived.  I conveniently blocked that part out from Troy's first months at home.  But the hardest challenge and what pulls at my heart the most is hoping that Troy is getting enough from me.  Making sure they each are taken care of is by far the hardest part of this gig.  If we all push through these first few months, I know we can make it through anything:)

There were 4 in the bed and the little one said...

These past two nights have been exhausting to say the least.  Troy has woken up in the middle of the night crying and needing comfort.  Come to find out he has an ear infection that also led to a small eye infection.  And...somehow Genna got an eye infection herself.  Two sick babies:(  Thank goodness we have a king size bed since both kids want to squeeze in with us.  After illnesses are gone, we are going to have to get both of these babes back into their own bed.  Sleep is important to this mama and I will find a way to get my bed back:)

Pics were taken a few weeks back.  Troy you can't get any cuter.

3 Years Going Strong

Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary.  It also would have been Genna's birthday if she didn't decide to come on her own.  But she decided to make her appearance 12 days early and we couldn't be happier.  Life here at the Shiner household is busy, chaotic and blissful all at the same time.  It has been so nice having Eric here with us everyday for these 2 weeks and we are all going to be a little sad when he has to go back to work on Monday.  Who is going to bring me breakfast in bed every morning?  Who is going to entertain Troy while I feed Gen every 3 hours?  Who is going to help me keep my sanity during the day when the going gets tough?  These are all things that I am worrying about (especially breakfast in bed:)).  I think there will definitely be an adjustment period.  I just hope that Troy will cope and be okay with not getting 100% of my attention all the time.  We'll see...

Eric,

Even though we have been together for 12 years, these last 3 years of married life have been the best so far. We have made such a full and happy home.  Our two little babies consume our hearts and time and have made us closer than ever.  I have such a wonderful husband and our kiddos have the best daddy I could have asked for.  Here's to a lifetime of love and adventure for our family of four.

Love you xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo...

Genevieve Likes Her New Home

Their First Meeting

He wanted to poke her and kiss her.  All things considered, their first meeting couldn't have gone better.

That Poor Poor Lizard

Troy was introduced to a lizard the other day.  He blew on it(?), watched it climb on his trike and bravely held it in his tiny little hands.  That poor poor lizard...
