Eastern Shore Wildlife Refuge

This past Saturday, we put the bikes in the back of the truck and headed to the Eastern Shore Wildlife Refuge. It was about an hour from our house and we got to cross the big Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to get there. We took a short bike ride on the bike path and ate a small picnic lunch. Afterwards, we checked out the wildlife center that had a sand table full of bones and artifacts found in the refuge that you could dig out and identify. You kids (and mom & dad) really enjoyed it. We also took a nice walk around the refuge and took in the sights. The day was completed with a sunset dinner in Virginia Beach at Dockside Restaurant and Fish Market on the Lynnhaven Inlet.
